Teach your child to visualize goals Kids who can picture themselves achieving their goals are more likely to do so. Have your child focus on a goal, such as getting ready for school on time. Next, have your student picture following the steps to reach it: getting dressed, having breakfast and grabbing an organized backpack. Encourage your child to imagine how good it will feel to reach the goal. Then, say "I know you can achieve your goal." https://tpitip.com/?15dH19702

Real World Readiness: A Black Tie Tiger Club Success Story This year, one of our Black Tie Tiger Club seniors, Chase Lanier, took a big step toward post-graduation readiness, transitioning from a supported skills program to real, on-the-job training in school nutrition. With coordination from the Program for Exceptional Children, the School Nutrition Department, and district leadership, Chase began working 3 hours a week across both MES and MHS cafeterias. The PEC provided scrubs and non-slip shoes to set him up for success. Both cafeteria managers supported his growth with hands-on training, while his teacher gave him encouragement and knowledge to improve his skills. After a successful trial period, Chase applied for and was hired as a part-time nutrition substitute. The Black Tie Tiger Club also used his application process as a learning opportunity to explore job readiness, turning one student’s journey into a lesson for many. He will continue his role during the school day throughout the spring and pick back up again in the fall. This is an inspiring reminder of what’s possible with teamwork, opportunity, and belief in student potential.

🚨 **Important Reminder About School Safety Systems** 🚨 Earlier today, there was an inadvertent push on a safety badge, which triggered a lockdown at our schools. While this was accidental, it highlights just how crucial these safety measures are in helping staff, students, and emergency personnel maintain situational awareness during any potential emergency. We are appreciative of everyone knowing their role and responding with swiftness. We understand that these systems can sometimes cause confusion, but they're in place for everyone’s protection. Our top priority is always the safety and well-being of our school community. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to improve our emergency protocols. #winateverything

Sometimes, let your child learn by doing Teaching your child new skills is important, and it can be a great way to spend time together. But kids often lose interest when everything feels like a lesson. So, take a step back sometimes. Let your child decide how to tackle a project. You might ask if there is anything you can do to help. Remember that your child also learns a lesson from trying something that doesn't work. https://tpitip.com/?15ce19702 A veces, deja que tu hijo aprenda haciendo.

E-Tips for Parents Ask questions to strengthen your child’s thinking skills There are many ways you can help your child learn to think things through. One is by asking questions aloud like, "I wonder why that happened?" and then discussing possible reasons. You can also show interest in the questions the teacher is asking, as well as what is being taught. When your child expresses opinions, ask for facts that back them up. And when your student reads, ask "What do you think is the most important thing you read in that passage?" https://tpitip.com/?15cb19702 Haga preguntas para fortalecer las habilidades de pensamiento de su hijo.

E-Tips for Parents A positive attitude supports your child’s self-confidence By age seven or eight, many children become self-conscious. A critical inner voice says things like, "That's stupid" or "You read like an idiot." These feelings can affect your child's willingness to tackle challenges in school. To help your child develop confidence, don't criticize the worrying. Instead, praise your student's effort and point out progress.
