Tomorrow's Middle School Basketball games vs. ECI have been postponed to next Wednesday, January 22 due to scheduling conflicts. On January 22, we will have the 8th grade recognition between the Girls (4 pm) and Boys (5:30 pm) games.

Ask your child to teach you technology skills Young people are great at picking up the latest technology. And it reinforces their skills when they teach them to others. So, when you are working on the computer or using a new app, ask your child to help you (even if you know what you're doing). Watch closely. If your child does something clever, ask, "Can you show me how you do that?" Metter Middle School will host its 3rd annual Fine Arts night on Thursday, Dec 12 from 6-7:30 pm at the K-8 Complex showcasing our chorus, band, and art selections from Mrs. Hackle's class. Admission is Free!

Candler County SWIRL Literacy Council will host Santa's Storytime Spectacular on December 12 from 5:30 until 6:30 pm at Farmers Furniture (20 N. Leroy St) to welcome Santa and spend some time with him! There will be a story time, crafts, and Christmas treats! Bring the kids and have a fun evening! Free books will be given out as well!

Let your child make some schoolwork choices Giving your child some choices about how to do school assignments can reduce study time problems. Let your child decide things like: whether to work in a bedroom or at the kitchen table, whether to start right after school or after relaxing a bit, and whether to start with math or reading. Chase Eversole and Jaxson Monroe traveled to Toombs County, on December 3rd, to compete in the inaugural Georgia HEO State Championship for heavy equipment simulators. The event was hosted by the Georgia Highway Contractors Association and the Georgia Heavy Equipment Operators Program. Each of the 25 Georgia schools, that currently have a HEO Simulator program, carried their classroom champions to the Toombs County Agri Center, to find out who is the best in the state.  Chase competed on the excavator and Jaxson competed on the bulldozer. In between competitions, the students participated in break-out training sessions presented by various industry partners. This gave the students the opportunity to network and gain valuable hands-on experience. The event ended with lunch and the presenting of trophies and prizes. Out of the 25 schools, Chase placed 11th in excavator and Jaxson placed 5th in bulldozer. Overall, a good experience for our Metter MCCA Tigers.
