The Candler County School District’s Summer Feeding Program provides free, nutritious meals to children during the summer months when school is not in session, helping ensure students continue to have access to healthy food. We are sharing this public survey to gather community input on our current meal stops and potential new locations so we can better serve families this summer. Your feedback will help us improve routes, identify areas of need, and make the program more accessible for our community.

In Santa Sleigh 5K News....We have now pre-registered over 100 runners for Saturday's 5K!!! If you have not yet registered...it is NOT too late!!! You can continue to register online until midnight 12/12 or you can register in person the morning of the race.

Early packet pick-up is tomorrow, Friday 12/12 from 10AM-2PM @ the Metter High School Lobby. ALL other packets can be picked up at 8AM in front of City Hall on race day!!!

JUNIORS: Prom Premiere is scheduled for January 15, 2026 at 7:00 pm. If you are interested in participating, please get a contract packet from the MHS office or print one from your Google classroom. These must be signed and returned to the MHS office no later than Dec. 11. Participation will be on a first-come basis. Once the spots are filled, registration will be closed. The Candler County Board of Education is accepting bids for a 2008 Bluebird Vision Mini Bus equipped with a wheelchair lift. The bus is in good running condition, however, minor engine repairs are needed. Both the A/C and heat are fully functional, and the bus has good tires. The interior is also in good condition. The current mileage is 146,559. To submit bids, please email Denise Strickland at dstrickland@metter.org no later than Monday, December 8, 2025.

Board Book Drive – Help Grow Young Readers!
The Candler County SWIRL Literacy Council is asking for your help in collecting new board books to give to the younger siblings (ages 0–5) of Metter Elementary School students!

Drop off new Board Books (for babies and toddlers):

When: December 1–17

Drop-off Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Where: Candler County Board of Education Office, 210 S. College St., Metter

We’re looking for board books specifically designed for babies and toddlers — those sturdy books with thick pages that can handle lots of love and little hands.

Your donation will help promote early literacy and inspire a lifelong love of reading in our community’s youngest learners.
