The Candler County Board of Education will hold 3 Public Hearings regarding the 2025 Proposed Budget. The dates and times for those meetings are:
May 30 at 5 pm
June 20 at 5 pm
June 26 at 8 am
Meetings will be held at the BOE Boardroom, 210 South College Street.

Administrators have heard lately how Mrs. Chicola’s students are doing so well in interviews at our local businesses and industries. MMS has named Chayton Todd as the '24-'25 School Year Teacher of the Year! Todd is a 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher.
MES has named Ashlee Lott the '24-'25 School Year Teacher of the Year! Ashlee is the Pre-School Intervention Teacher and has been teaching for 16 years!
Metter High School's Tiger Baseball was notified of their All-Region Honors this past week for Region 3A-Division 1.
Rustan Rigdon was named Offensive Player of the Year. Carter Gainous was named 1st Team, ShortStop; Caelan Vernon was named 1st Team-Pitcher.
Honorable Mentions went to Kahne Brown, Lawson Bryant, Kaden Hobbs, Hanley Sims and Cace West.

Metter High School Boys & Girls Golf Teams won their respective Area 2-A Division 1 Championships today at Applewood Golf Course in Keysville, GA.
Boys won with a score of 350 and the Girls won with a score of 178.
⚽️🐅 MHS Girls Soccer will enter Round 3 of the GHSA State Playoffs on Monday, April 29 against Mt. Vernon at Metter's The Jungle at 5 pm.
Due to the construction and school traffic release, please enter the "middle/second" entrance between Metter High School and the K8 Complex AFTER 3:30 pm. Gates to the stadium will not open until 3:30 pm.
Tickets are GoFan electronic tickets only and are $7 each.
Tickets will go on sale this afternoon (Friday). We will update this post with the direct link at that time.

⚾️GHSA Baseball State Playoff Announcement:
Round 2 of the Baseball State Playoffs will begin on Monday, April 29 at 4 pm in Metter at Tiger Stadium. It will be a doubleheader against Crawford County.
GHSA requires GoFan electronic tickets for admission. No Booster Passes are allowed. $10 per ticket. Tickets will be available for purchase on GoFan Friday afternoon. Gates will open at 3:30 due to school traffic. Remember to please enter the school using the "middle" entrance AFTER 3:30 pm (one entrance past Metter High School coming from Metter) due to construction and follow the road around to the baseball field.

MHS Girls Soccer Team wins the second round of playoffs against Temple 4-3 after two overtimes and two sets of penalty kicks!!
MHS Baseball clinched Round 1 of the playoffs with two wins over Jefferson Co 10-0, and 17-1.

Attention: Minor accident involving a school bus this morning on South Lewis Street. No students were on board. There were no injuries and minimal damage.
