Surrounded by family and friends, five seniors from Metter High School and Metter College & Career Academy signed a commitment to become future educators in the state of Georgia as part of the Teach in the Peach initiative on Friday.
Teach in the Peach is a teacher recruitment effort launched by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) aimed at attracting, retaining, and supporting high-quality educators, with the goal of making Georgia the top state for teachers.
The following students participated in the signing and have announced their postsecondary plans:
Adysan Longgrear — University of Georgia
Allie Porter — Georgia Southern University
Charissa Hall — Georgia Highlands College
Isabel Silva-Ramos — Georgia Southern University
Makya Wright — Southeastern Technical College
