We are excited to announce that we will begin construction on the new Metter College & Career Academy very soon!
As with any construction project, there are challenges. For at least the remainder of this school year and more than likely, into next year, students will
continue to park in the grass area in front of the school.
However, beginning
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 19
the former student parking area will be blocked off to ALL traffic and there will be no through-traffic to the back of the High School. NO students will be able to park directly behind the High School. If faculty/staff wish to park near the tennis courts or the weight room during the school day, they will have to enter through the Oak Tree Entrance. Please note there is plenty of parking at the K8 complex. After 3:30 pm weekdays and on the weekends, traffic is permitted through the Bus Entrance to the athletic complexes.
We understand this will be an inconvenience for some, but please understand that we are growing and the final
product will be well worth it!

Pre-K registration for the 2024-2025 school year will begin Monday, February 19th! Please pick up application packets from the K-8 front office between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Spots will fill up fast as we are limited to a certain number based on the state. The last few years we have had a wait list and cannot guarantee every student a spot, so get your application and complete and return it early! Required documents to register: certified birth certificate, child's social security card, proof of residency (like a utility bill), current immunization certificate, Ear Eye Dental certificate, and completed application.

Candler County Schools is a proud supporter of "rec ball" because it can teach the fundamentals of a sport in a fun atmosphere so that a child is ready to be a Tiger player when they reach Middle or High School.

The Candler County School District plans to operate on a normal schedule for Tuesday, January 9. With the timing of the storm, we feel students may be safer inside the school buildings and the storm should be passed by the time school ends as they predict it is moving very quickly. However, we will continue to monitor the weather and will keep you updated through social media, our websites, and through our mass communication text/call/email system. We hope that everyone will be safe as this storm passes through our area.
