Time to go Back to School! We’ve tried to make it easier this year for you, parents! That pesky “first of the school year” packet is now going to be online for returning students AND it’s online if you are new to our school district!
Returning students: Parents, if you have already been using the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus, you can go ahead and click on “more” and then “Online Registration” to get your packet completed this year! If you have not set up the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus yet, that individual activation information will come home with your children on the first day of school.
New Students to our district that need to enroll, click here to begin registration (you must have a valid email address to register). You can also visit the school your child will be attending if you need assistance with enrollment. We ask that you have these completed by Monday, July 29th so we can get them processed by Open House on Wednesday, July 31 (4-6 pm).

MMS Summer SWIRL book club traveled to Two Story Bookstore and Café to discuss the first half of Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan. The students enjoyed lattes, coffees, hot chocolate, and pastries together in this unique and beautiful space.

CCSD Transportation showed their Tiger hearts today when a bus loaded with students from Arkansas broke down in Metter. Transportation director Travis Lanier and Driver Lake Blackburn loaded up the students and drove them to Birmingham to meet up with a replacement bus from Arkansas. As of 8:45 pm, they are still in Alabama, but are on their way back so they can be ready to transport kids to 4-H camp tomorrow! Thank you, gentlemen, for helping a fellow school system. Tiger Nation is proud of you! 🖤🧡

Today, the MMS Summer SWIRL Book Club traveled to the GSU Botanic Garden to discuss their first read of the Summer, Mascot, by Charles Waters and Traci Sorell. They also decorated bookmarks which were provided along with stickers by Mrs. Tammy Durden. Students chose the bookmark associated with their house color and decorated their bookmarks to use for their next read, Amina’s Voice. Huge thank you to Mrs. Tammy for being so generous to our club members!
The Candler County Board of Education will hold 3 Public Hearings regarding the 2025 Proposed Budget. The dates and times for those meetings are:
May 30 at 5 pm
June 20 at 5 pm
June 26 at 8 am
Meetings will be held at the BOE Boardroom, 210 South College Street.

MMS has named Chayton Todd as the '24-'25 School Year Teacher of the Year! Todd is a 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher.
Metter High School's Tiger Baseball was notified of their All-Region Honors this past week for Region 3A-Division 1.
Rustan Rigdon was named Offensive Player of the Year. Carter Gainous was named 1st Team, ShortStop; Caelan Vernon was named 1st Team-Pitcher.
Honorable Mentions went to Kahne Brown, Lawson Bryant, Kaden Hobbs, Hanley Sims and Cace West.

⚽️🐅 MHS Girls Soccer will enter Round 3 of the GHSA State Playoffs on Monday, April 29 against Mt. Vernon at Metter's The Jungle at 5 pm.
Due to the construction and school traffic release, please enter the "middle/second" entrance between Metter High School and the K8 Complex AFTER 3:30 pm. Gates to the stadium will not open until 3:30 pm.
Tickets are GoFan electronic tickets only and are $7 each.
Tickets will go on sale this afternoon (Friday). We will update this post with the direct link at that time.

⚾️GHSA Baseball State Playoff Announcement:
Round 2 of the Baseball State Playoffs will begin on Monday, April 29 at 4 pm in Metter at Tiger Stadium. It will be a doubleheader against Crawford County.
GHSA requires GoFan electronic tickets for admission. No Booster Passes are allowed. $10 per ticket. Tickets will be available for purchase on GoFan Friday afternoon. Gates will open at 3:30 due to school traffic. Remember to please enter the school using the "middle" entrance AFTER 3:30 pm (one entrance past Metter High School coming from Metter) due to construction and follow the road around to the baseball field.
