The Community

Candler County is located on the Wiregrass/Woodpecker Trail and has all the spirit and beauty that typifies the term “Southern Charm”. We are a short driving distance to Georgia Southern University, Ogeechee Technical College, Swainsboro Technical College, and East Georgia College. The port city of Savannah and its access to the Atlantic coastal waterways and beaches are only 65 miles from Metter. Nearby are George L. Smith State Park and Gordonia-Altamaha State Park, which provide camping, hiking, picnicking and excellent fishing opportunities.
