Parent University is a school based initiative that was developed to help parents become active partners in their children's education. Parent University collaborates with local businesses to provide workshops and family activities that are designed to enhance knowledge, skills, resources, and relationship with the schools in order to improve student achievement.
What Is The Goal of Parent University?
The goal of Parent University is to provide parents with standards based information to help improve the academic performance of their children, share up-to-date information on issues that impact our student's learning, and foster relationship building between schools, parents, and students that will help to accomplish our system's vision which is for all students to meet or exceed Georgia Accountability measures, for the graduation rate to continually improve, and for the system to be on or above state averages on the CRCT/GHSGT in all core subjects.

Research has shown that parents are key instruments for increasing Their child's academic success through active and consistent involvement in Their child's school. Parental involvement improves student attitudes, moral, and academic Achievement across all subject areas. Parent University is not only for parents, it is for any person who wants to be actively involved in a particular student's educational experience.
