Students need to pick up a form from Mrs. Angie Henderson in the MHS Front Office prior to April 23 so a parent can complete it.

On March 22 at 2 pm during the Ag Day at the Schools, there will be a fire/airplane demonstration. We must stop traffic on Hwy 129 during this time due to smoke. Please know that there is no emergency during this time but you may want to choose an alternate route.

Tiger Varsity Baseball won their first region game on March 12 against Screven County with a score of 14-5. They fell in the second game with a score of 3-7.

It was a clean sweep for the Metter Tigers Soccer Team on March 12 against Claxton. The girls would win 2-1 with Amya Walker scoring 2 goals. The Boys would go on to win 1-0 with Jonathan Esalde scoring the winning goal. GREAT WINS!

As many of you know, the City of Metter is about to rebuild the Fire Station. While under construction, the Fire Department will need somewhere to store their firetrucks and equipment.
The Young Farmers and FFA organizations at Metter High School are constructing a pole barn at the Metter Police Station for the Fire Department to use to store their trucks/equipment.
They are in the process of installing the trusses this week with the help of instructors Mr. Jon Milligan and Mr. Blake Jeffers, along with Mr. Harold Milligan.

The Another Bloomin' Run (Obstacle Course inside schools) will be held on March 29 at 6 pm! Registration is only $12 per person and will reduce to $10 per person for teams of 6 or more. The “Another Bloomin’ Run” event was established to promote awareness, acceptance and inclusion of students with disabilities in Candler County. Through proceeds earned by the race, our students in The Program for Exceptional Children have benefited in many ways. We have been able to provide enrichment opportunities for our students, purchase needed technology to help students succeed and provide educational resources for parents and much more.

Bring your children or grandchildren ages 0-5 years old for a night of fun activities at the L. C. Anderson Memorial Library - Candler County on Thursday, February 29 from 6-7 pm!

On Wednesday, February 28 from 6-8 pm, MHS/MCCA will host a Dual Enrollment Information Night to learn the ins and outs of Dual Enrollment. It is important to learn the pathway your child needs to take in order to be able to take Dual Enrollment classes. Reps from Southeastern Tech, Ogeechee Tech, East Ga State and Georgia Southern will be there to discuss options.

We are excited to announce that we will begin construction on the new Metter College & Career Academy very soon!
As with any construction project, there are challenges. For at least the remainder of this school year and more than likely, into next year, students will
continue to park in the grass area in front of the school.
However, beginning
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 19
the former student parking area will be blocked off to ALL traffic and there will be no through-traffic to the back of the High School. NO students will be able to park directly behind the High School. If faculty/staff wish to park near the tennis courts or the weight room during the school day, they will have to enter through the Oak Tree Entrance. Please note there is plenty of parking at the K8 complex. After 3:30 pm weekdays and on the weekends, traffic is permitted through the Bus Entrance to the athletic complexes.
We understand this will be an inconvenience for some, but please understand that we are growing and the final
product will be well worth it!

Don't forget to sign up for our Remind for families with babies and Tots ages 0-5 years! It's simple! On your phone, send a text to 81010 that says @4g3f2fg
and you are signed up! You will receive text occasionally telling you about our fun family events!
