Save the Date!! The Metter College & Career Academy Foundational Leadership Entrepreneurial X-Perience (FLEX) Program will host its FINAL Competition on Thursday, March 28 at 6 pm at the Wilcox Auditorium.

We ask that you come to support our Top 3 Student Businesses as they compete for prize money AND the chance to compete at the State Level in April!

Here are the top 3 businesses that will be competing--in alphabetical order by business name:

Divine Decorative Desserts is owned by Miss Christian Goff, MCCA 12th Grader. Miss Christian bakes all kinds of goodies like cookies, cakes and even some banana pudding cheesecake squares (yum, right!)!

Lens and Lettering is owned by Miss Layla Smith, MCCA 10th Grader. Miss Layla uses her calligraphy talents to create beautiful projects for her customers. She is also a photographer and provides lasting memories through the lens. Handwriting is almost a forgotten art, but Miss Layla does it so beautifully that you’ll want to get back to writing someone a special note—or have her do it for you!

Salvage Boyz Baitz is owned by Mr. Zach Johnson, MHS 11th Grader. Mr. Zach takes old and used fishing worms, remolds them, and resells them. Not only does he recycle, but he has a plan to place containers at local river landings to collect worms that fishermen discard, so he’s helping keep our land and rivers clean too! His baits can be bought right here in town at Tom’s Bait and Tackle.

Special thanks to our sponsors, who, without them, we would not have been able to provide such a program for our students. Our students and our community will benefit from having these young entrepreneurs learn from this program and build their businesses with it.
